Pre-Employment | Core Hardware Devices
All employees are issued a MacBook and mouse as part of their standard equipment. It is highly recommended that you familiarize yourself with the basic functionalities and features of these two core hardware devices. Having a solid understanding will greatly assist you during the onboarding process and help ensure a smooth transition into your new role.
MacBook (Apple)
Trackpad: Essential Gestures:
- Click & Select: Tap with one finger or press down to "click".
- Secondary Click (Right-Click): Tap or click with two fingers simultaneously.
- Scroll: Swipe up or down using two fingers.
- Swipe Between Pages: Swipe left or right with two fingers to flip through pages in browsers.
macOS Windows: How to Minimize, Maximize and Close:
macOS: Connect to Wi-Fi:
- Click the Wi-Fi icon (which looks like a series of curved bars) in the top right of your screen.
- Ensure the toggle is switched On.
- Under Other Networks, click on the name of your Wi-Fi network.
- Type in your Wi-Fi password and click Join.
Mouse (Logitech)
Bluetooth: How to Connect
- Prepare the Mouse
- Remove the battery cover on the underside of the mouse.
- Take out the protective plastic tab blocking the battery.
- Turn the mouse over and press the ON/OFF button/switch once to power it on.
- To enter Bluetooth pairing mode, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the light/sensor underneath blinks.
- Connect to MacBook
- Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen and select System Settings.
- Click on Bluetooth.
- Ensure Bluetooth is switched ON.
- Wait for the mouse to appear in the Nearby Devices list and click Connect next to Logitech M196.
